January 4, 2013 at 12:59 pm in reply to: How to modify S-Pen templates to convert field-language items #683Galaxy NoteMember
Not sure about the language switch in the template. A workaround is to use a text box(with characters you want) cover the area, and save it as a new S Note. Next time, you can continue wotk on this S Note. You can also make some copies of the S Note in /SDCARD/ S Note/ folder, and use it as them as template.
As I know, you can adjust the font and the size for text input directly in Note 2 and Note 10.1. But for text from handwriting recognition (productivity tools), I did not find ways to change the settings. (although one member told it can be changed).
So, for time being, I now use writing input from Keyboard (not the productivity tools’ hand writing recognition). Such text can be adjusted on Note 2 and Note 10.1. For the original Note (note 1), we need wait for the Jelly Bean update to get such features.
Galaxy NoteMemberDo you mean the one in keyboard? You should have one.
The best video tutorials are on Galaxy Note. Note 2 and Note 10.1’s website. You may also search in YouTube.
We also working on a free ebook for using S Note and S Pen will be covered as well. But it will take some time to finish and we are targeting (not able to confirm yet) the March release.
Galaxy NoteMemberFor normal usage, did you notice the battery drain rate?
Anyway, it looks like a hardware issue. It is better to get a replacement or have it checked in local Samsung service centre.
Galaxy NoteMemberHeavy use (and therefore repeated charges) will lower the capacity quite quickly. Normal smartphone battery may lose capacity significantly after 500-600 cycles. You may read this article on battery life and battery capacity vs discharge cycles (http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries)
It is a good practice to full discharge battery (and then fully charge it) at least once or twice each month so that the indicator of battery levels is more accurate.
Anyway, you may try to get a new battery if you use it heavily.
Galaxy NoteMemberthank you for the update. Yes, although eh official documentation says Note only support up to 32GB MicroSD card, it seems there are no issues so far using 64GB ones.
Galaxy NoteMemberProbably not, the installer is for Windows. Anyway, you can download the source code to see whether you can make it work on Mac.
Galaxy NoteMemberMost screen recording apps need rooted phones.
I usually use Ashot (capture and cast phone screen from PC, http://www.mightypocket.com/2010/08/android-screenshots-screen-capture-screen-cast/). This one does not require root. Of course, the frame rate is not so good. You may check a sample video we created for S Note (https://www.allaboutgalaxynote.com/s-note-tutorial-how-to-use-productivity-tools/)
Galaxy NoteMemberFirst, if you moved any apps to SD card before, you need move it back to phone memory before change the card.
Most of other contents can be copied from the old card (put it on the PC’s card reader) after the new SD card is inserted.
Galaxy NoteMemberIn GB, you can adjust volume in service mode (*#197328640#) , but it is no longer available after ICS update.
So, probably you have to go to local Samsung service center. The guys can increase the volume for you in a few mins.
Normally, you should NOT use third-party volume booster apps as they may damage the amplifier.
November 29, 2012 at 11:45 am in reply to: "USB Storage Blank or Has Unsupported File System" message #643Galaxy NoteMemberIf the contents are very important to you, you probably have to ask some professionals to do the recovery. It will be VERY EXPENSIVE.
You may try your luck with local Samsung service center. Some experienced guys there (most of them don’t know how to do such things, so make sure you get the right guys) may help you recover some files.
I strongly recommend you NOT to try any tools (free or paid) on the web unless you know storage very well.
Galaxy NoteMemberJelly Bane update for Galaxy Note is NOT available at this time. The update will very likely start to roll out in next month, and most users will get it in Q1/2013.
You can update your note to ICS 4.0.4 if you haven’t. It is better to use Kies from your PC.
Galaxy NoteMember6-7 hours continuous use is already very good. If you reduce the brightness (not use automatic) of the display, you can get longer.
10 hours usage probably is just calling (no wifi, no mobile data).
Galaxy NoteMemberProbably, it also related to the OS version. Did you try to streaming from Note 2 to S3 (not S3 to Note 2)?
Galaxy NoteMemberNot sure. Did you try AllShare from your Note?
Often, Android to Android streaming works best among devices from the same manufacturer.
Galaxy NoteMemberIn most regions, the warranty is one year. You can ask for a replacement if the battery has problems. If it is not under warranty any more, you may try to get a new battery.
