Galaxy NoteMember
First, you cannot connect USB modem directly to Galaxy Note, although your Note has a micro USB port, because Android does not have drivers for these devices.
In the USB modem, there is a normal SIM card. Normally, you can put this SIM card in your Galaxy Note and get the same service as you put in the USB modem. But in some regions, some carrier may pose some limits on using such SIM cards (which usually bundles more mobile data). SO, you cna try to take out the SIM card from the USB modem and put it into your Note to see whether it works or not. (Galaxy Note can only take one SIM card, you need remove your original SIM card).
If the SIM card works in your Note, very likely it will also work in any wireless routers or MiFi with SIM card slot. Then, you can conenct your Galaxy Note to MiFi or wireless router through WiFi, MiFi is small enough for your bag.
Anyway, whether it works or not depends on how the carrier limit the usage of the SIM card. By default, inside the modem, it is just a normal SIM card.
Galaxy NoteMemberRestart your phone, if you did not make changes to your mobile data settings. (Press down power button, choose Restart)
Galaxy NoteMemberIf I understand correctly, 1). to use broadband, you need have a WiFi enabled router, then your can enable WiFi non your Note; 2). to use 3G data card (not the SIM card in your Note), you need a MiFi. Then your Note can connect to it through WiFi. (of course, there are a few wireless routers can also insert 3G data card)
Galaxy NoteMemberNo. In your phone, the speaker has far stronger magnetic materials.
Galaxy NoteMemberDid you compare the photos on a computer?
Sometimes, it may be caused by the brightness of the screen, and it give you the false impression. Try to increase the brightness of your screen to see whether the photo “look” better.
Galaxy NoteMember1. because of caches
2. the result is identical./ Updating through Kies is called sideloading (download to your PC–transfer/upload to your phone–Apply update). OTA omits the fist stage.
3. related to your phone’s radio (depending on local regulations and frequency). Usually no difference for most countries.
4. Only when you try to flash your phone with unoffcial ROMs.
5. No.
Galaxy NoteMemberIf the battery drains fast, you need find out the causes.
For these unofficial ROMs, usually, there is a community and the developers will be very glad to hear from you. So, you can check with the developers of the ROM.
Of course, you can always use the CPU Spy and BetterBatteryStats to find the possible causes. Both apps work well on Jelly Bean as I know. You may check this post: https://www.allaboutgalaxynote.com/how-to-solve-battery-issues-after-ics-update-in-your-galaxy-note/
Galaxy NoteMemberAfter enabling it, can you see the Bluetooth address (Settings–About phone–status)?
Galaxy NoteMemberI guess the font used on each website is defined on the website side, not on your Note.
Galaxy NoteMemberYour car must not be stationary. If it is stationary and you want to know direction, you have to use other compass apps.
Navigation remembers you last state, map does not.
Galaxy NoteMemberDid you try to follow this post: https://www.allaboutgalaxynote.com/how-to-solve-battery-issues-after-ics-update-in-your-galaxy-note/ ?
You need find out the causes of battery drain.
Galaxy NoteMemberSeldom video can spread virus on Android (Linux). Did you notice which app sending you the notification? Maybe the app is too fishy. At least, I don’t think the system will send you such notifications.
Personally, I never install any antivirus on my phones. Linux (Android is using Linux Kernel) machine do not need any anti-vius up to now.
If you really think you phone got virus (possible?), you can try the free antivirus (e.g., https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avast.android.mobilesecurity) from Google Play store. I never use such products, so I don’t know which one is better.
If you want to clean your phone, you can do a factory reset (backup your data, but disable Automatic restore in Settings–Backup and reset)
Galaxy NoteMemberUsually, I do not recommend user to root the device if it is still under warranty.
Anyway, here is a link in xda-developers (use at your own risk):
Galaxy NoteMemberYou may temporally disable background process (settings–developer options–Background process limit, set to none) to find out whether there are any differences. Please change it back to the default setting (standard limit) if it dees not help.
Sometimes, you can close some recent apps (long press Home button, right or left swipe the recent apps) to give the app more juice.
Anyway, the app (the free one) is quite old, maybe it has some problems with ICS.
Galaxy NoteMemberSomeone reported this issue before. I tried, and I didn’t has the issue. So, it is probably related to the mail server or the carrier.
Anyway, you may test with Gmail to find out whether you have the same issue.
