You can turn off and even disable Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing
One of the most annoying features in the TouchWiz Home launcher is the Flipboard briefing, which occupies the leftmost panel of Galaxy Note 7 home screen.
If Galaxy Note 7 owners really need such a home screen panel, Google Now launcher with Google Now panel is usually far better.
The good news is that you can turn off Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing in your Galaxy Note 7 home screen, just like in previous Galaxy devices.
You can even disable Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing if you don’t want to use it at all. Actually, most experienced Galaxy Note users disable the flipboard briefing once they get a new device.
If you a Flipboard app user, it is better to add a widget to Galaxy Note 7 home screen, instead of using the crappy Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing.
How to turn off Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing in home screen?
You may follow this steps to turn off Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing in home screen.
Step 1: Enter Galaxy Note 7 home screen edit mode
You can tap and hold (long tap) any blank area in Galaxy Note 7 home screen to enter edit mode as shown below.
Galaxy Note 7 flipboard briefing panel is located in the leftmost of the home screen.
You can navigate to this panel with one of the following two methods:
- tapping the = icon in indicator bar as shown below.
- flicking to leftmost panel.
Step 3: Turn off Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing
As shown above, in the Fllipboard briefing page, you can tap the switch near top right.
You can also drag the switch to left side to turn off this panel.
How to disable Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing?
Occasionally, you may get a few annoying notifications from Flipboard briefing after you turn it off in Galaxy Note 7 home screen.
So, if you are not a fan of Flipboard briefing, you can disable it totally.
Step 1: access Galaxy Note 7 settings
You can access Galaxy Note 7 settings from Settings app in Apps screen (app drawer) or from notification panel.
Step 2: go to Galaxy Note 7 application manager
Tap Applications as shown below to navigate to Galaxy Note 7 application manager.
By default, you cannot find the Briefing app in application manager because it is installed as system app.
Tap the menu key (3 vertical dots) as shown below to get more options.
Step 3: Show system apps
Among the menu items of Galaxy Note 7 application manager, tap Show system apps as shown above.
Now, system apps are also added into the application list in Galaxy Note 7 application manager.
Step 4: locate Briefing app
In the list of apps, now you can find the Briefing app as shown above.
This is the app you want to disable.
Step 5: Disable Briefing app
Tap Briefing app as shown above to access application info page for Briefing app.
In the application info page, you can tap Disable button to disable Galaxy Note 7 Flipboard briefing.
After tapping Disable button, you will get a standard warning message as shown below:
Disabling built-in apps may cause errors in other apps.
Tap Disable as shown below to proceed.
Now in Galaxy Note 7 application manager, the Briefing app is marked as disabled.
Please note, for system apps and other pre-installed apps, you cannot uninstall them unless you root your Galaxy Note 7
If you don’t want to use them in the future, you can only disable them.
Disabling a pre-installed app actually reset the app to the factory state by clearing any data and settings for the app.
Any disabled apps will not be able to start unless you enable it again.
