How to use Galaxy Note 4 camera burst mode?

What is Galaxy Note 4 camera burst mode?

Burst mode allows you to take photos successively in a short period of time. It is desired when the subjects are in motion, for example, in sports.

Once you finish getting a series of photos, you can then select the best image of the group or arrange them in a sequence to study the transitions in detail.

Some Galaxy Note 4 owners thought burst mode was not available in the Galaxy Note 4 camera because they could not find it in the camera settings.

This is not true.

Galaxy Note 4  camera fully supports burst mode, and even better, the burst mode is always enabled.

There is one limitation in Galaxy Note 4 camera burst mode: it can only take up to 30 pictures in one shot (about 3 seconds).

  • Only thirty shots? On iPhone it is unlimited. On the S5 (G901F) it was 1000. But THIRTY is FAR TOO LOW!!!!
But better than the twenty shot limit from Note 3 and S4 and earlier.

    • Correction: since iOS 8, iPhone stops at 999 Shots.

Obvious: Every phone stops at overheating (continuing could damage the device), too weak battery (a high hardware usage at low battery could have influence on the current. Tthe phone might turn off without warning) , or full memory.

  • Is it possible to export burst shots as say a GIF? I often use this to capture little bits of action that I can "play" and see the animation on my phone. Typically I want to save these as a little playable GIF, and delete the individual pictures. But I haven't been able to find an export or "save as..." option.

  • Where can I find instructions on how to manage the large group of photos taken by burst mode? I see icons on the photos, but don't know what they are. I've tried deleting some of them and get a message saying I can't delete them.

  • Anyone know how to rearrange the pictures. Or flip the way it plays on burst mode?

    • there are actually individual photos you can edit. But for the playing sequence, it should from the first to the last. There is no settings for it. You can only change the plying speed.

  • I am so upset too that I cannot switch off the burst mode of my Samsung Note 4 whereas previously I could with my older Samsung models. I often accidentally took pictures by burst mode just because I pressed a little too long. Samsung should have given us the option to switch the burst mode off. Truely a step backward for Samsung.

    • My phone seems to always take photos in burst mode. It is unbelieveably irritating!

      • It is very irritating to have this forced burst mode. I have this phone for a week and have deleted these duplicate pictures for 75% of my photos already.
Holding down the button used to mean to focus onto an object and now it's focus AND burst shots ? But I just want to focus and use auto mode. Makes taking picture no longer as enjoyable.
If it's so important to have burst shots at one's fingertips, make it so by having a translucent button on the aide of the screen to do just that. I don't even use burst shots more than a few times in the years I have my smart phones. This is such a bad idea.

        • I thought to focus, all you have to do is touch the screen and it'll auto focus, NO? Because that's how I get mine to focus. You shouldn't have to hold down the TAKE PICTURE button to focus. It will definitely just do burst shot. If anything, I think some users don't really understand how to use the device properly. Once you get to know it, it's incredible. :)

          • Touch is to change focus. Yes, it can be used to force the focus if the auto focus doesn't work well.

      • Probably you pressed the shutter button too long. You just need tap it once to take photos. If you hold the button for about 3 seconds, it will assume you want to use burst mode.
