When do you need voice control for the Galaxy Note 4 camera?

You can control the Galaxy Note 4 camera with your voice.  This is known as voice control for the Samsung camera app.

When you want to take a photo or record a video, normally, you need to touch the camera button or the recording button on the screen.

This can sometimes be inconvenient when you are using the timer or taking a selfie, or when your hands are busy.

For selfies, you can also use a heart rate monitor to take photos if one or more faces are detected.

But when your hands cannot reach the phone, you can then use voice commands to take photos and record videos on Galaxy Note 4.

How to enable/disable voice control for Galaxy Note 4 camera?

To use Galaxy Note 4 camera voice control, you need to enable this feature first.

Start the Camera app on your Galaxy Note 4.

Tap the Settings icon as shown below.

Actually, if voice control is enabled, you can find the microphone icon, as shown below.

Tap more (…) on the screen.

This will open all settings for the Galaxy Note 4 camera.

Because voice control is enabled now, if you tap Voice control once, as shown below, the voice control feature will then be turned off.

As shown below, the voice control for the Galaxy Note 4 camera is turned off after taping it once.

Now tap Voice Control again to enable it.

A pop-out window now tells you how to use voice control for Galaxy Note 4.

Tap OK to confirm.

If you don’t tap anything on the screen, after a few seconds, voice control will also be turned on automatically.

How to use voice commands to take photos and record videos on Galaxy Note 4?

Once the voice control is enabled, you can now take photos or record videos with voice commands on Galaxy Note 4.

As mentioned above, you should find the voice control icon (microphone) in the camera interface if this feature is enabled.

To use voice commands to take photos on Galaxy Note 4, you can use one of the four voice commands:

  • Cheese
  • Smile
  • Capture
  • Shoot

To record videos, you need to use the voice command “Record video“.

Please note voice control is accepted only when the Camera app is started. Of course, you can use Google Now voice command or S Voice to launch the camera app, then use voice control to take photos and record videos on Galaxy Note 4.
