I am writing this out of desparation and it may be a question often asked already. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, and some dimwit did a factory reset / software reloading on it without checking with me. I had a lot of critical financial data on action memo which also recently converted to SNote.
Is there any way I can get this data back? I cannot find this on my cloud accounts either.

Data recovery is very expensive. And they do not guarantee anything. Often, only very small portion of the data can be recovered.
Anyway, if anything is important, you should back up it. Storage (in any devices or even in big datacenters) can be corrupted at any time.
l cann't import PDF files in the new S Note on my Note 10.1
What error did you get? You can import PDF file when in s note view page, not individual s note.
