  • Hi, when i am on a call i am unable to use the keypad. so when i call automated numbers i can not go to next option on their menu. it does the touch sound but it is not recognized by the phone.please help.

    • When you move the phone away from your ear, the keypad should appear.

You can also launch phone app on multiwindow mode.

  • The volume automatically come to silent , and I can’t hear the incoming call tone on my note 3 neo.

    • Did you check the volume settings in settings - sound notifications? Sometimes, the volume button was accidently pressed.

  • why my note3 phone screen light getting dull and is not back till i change brightness. Is there any problem with my phone.

    • I think you are using the auto brightness. Maybe the ambient sensor is not accurate. You can cover the sensor and uncover it a few times to test it. If it response very slow, you can try to reboot the phone.

  • I was on the tmoble network and switched to Verizon so has to get a different phone. Now o.k. going back to t mobile but can't remember password for lock screen.. Help, please, how do i bypass and reset? Thank you

    • You can unlock your phone with your Google account in Android device manager from a PC.

If you also cannot retrieve your Google password, you can boot the phone into recovery mode (remove battery, wait a min, put battery back, press volume up + down+home+power buttons) to totally wipe the phone.

  • I was wondering if you know how to switch between input languages on the Samsung Keyboard. I have English, Korean and Chinese as input languages, but I am unable to switch between them. Can you offer some advice?

  • i've tried going to the settings place n check the box for the auto display on the notifications pannel i've tried restarting phone n taking phone battery out twice but still the adjust display thingy refuse to appear! fck this shit -.- nv encountered such problems since jan 2014 n this is not my first time dropping my phone but this didnt happened during my first few times of dropping it. i jus dropped my phone twice due to hands wet n floor slippery cause of the rain n when i finally can use it again it disappeared! fcking angry with my phone

  • I have been going nuts trying to figure this out. I am a new Samsung Note 3 user (prior to this had a BB for 4 years). I am trying to figure out what this screen is and how to get it to turn on or come up. I lock my phone and the screen goes black. All of a sudden a screen pops up almost like a slow bubble effect and on the screen I see the time and it will also show me if I have any emails or texts and a few other things. Then like 2-3 seconds later it disappears and the screen is black again. I have been trying to figure out what this screen is called and how can I get it to come up but it seems to have a mind of its own. Any help would be appreciated.

    • This is lock screen. When you have new messages, email or voice-mail, it will light up and show the preview of the message. If no action is taken, it will black the screen again. It will light up again only when a new message arrives.

  • Whilst texting I hit the key for numbers, now I can't get the alphabet back. Nothing seems to restore it, even tried settings! Any advice pls?

    • I don't think there are any settings for this in Note 3. it will also drain your battery very quickly.

Maybe, you can check whether there are any apps for this.

    • There is no 4.2 firmware for Note 3, which starts with 4.3.

Also any downgrade should be done in Samsung service centre. Android does not provide roll-back feature.

  • My note 3 will not turn using double click when screen is off. News comes uo instead. I've read many forums and tried them all bit no luck. It does work if screen is lit.

  • I still have one more problem. For note 1, i can just save internet pages for offline reading. But i cannot find this selection for note 3.
I also cannot find calculator to add to home page*-*

  • Hi, how do i change the background of the top menu that show the time, battery life, connect etc? the default of the color is half grey half white. I cannot see clearly at the white part. would like to change it. Thanks for your help :)

  • I lost the option to enable the effect on the unlock screen. It was there initially. I added an ActiveSync account (Exchange) and I think there were a lot of restrictions and this is when the effect (and option to select it) disappeared. I have sense deleted the account and removed ActiveSync. However, the option has not re-appeared. How can I get it back?

    Thank you.

    • do you mean the unlock effect? You can try to change the screen lock to pattern or swipe. Then lock the phone, and unlock it.

If this does not work, you can try to set lock screen to pattern. Lock the phone. Then use wrong patterns for a few times, until you get the option of "forget password". Use your Google account to unset the lock screen settings (This may not work in some regions). Check whether you get the option.

The final way is to do a factory reset of the Galaxy Note 3. You must backup all your data before resetting.

      • I have a question regarding about the assistive menu of note 3. Coz every time i close my phone and then open it, the assistive menu disappear. I want the same thing in the iphone that everytime you open your phone the assistive menu is always there. I hope someone can help me about this. Thanks.

        • The assistant menu should always be available once enabled, it is actually even available the lock screen.

Did you check whether it is on: Settings--device--accessibility--assistant menu (under mobility)? (Green means on.)

If it is checked/on, but you cannot get it after unlock the phone, it usually caused by some other apps, especially some third-party apps related to task manager, or battery life saving. You may check whether you installed such apps.
