In Galaxy Note 3, you get the annoying My Magazine on the home screen when you swipe up from the home button. In Galaxy S5, this My Magazine was moved to a dedicated page on the home screen.
In the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung gave up the My Magazine because the reception was probably not as good as expected.
Now, a Flipboard briefing page has been added to the Galaxy Note 4 home screen. Flipboard is a nice app for reading and news aggregating on Android and iOS. You can put a widget on your home screen if you want.
The problem is that if you don’t turn off the Flipboard briefing on the Galaxy Note 4 home screen, you cannot “rotate” the home screens: once you flick to the Flipboard briefing page, it will not go to the next home screen, and you have to flick back.
So, the implementation is really a failure, although the idea is good.
This is very disturbing if you get used to scrolling the home pages without flicking back.
Luckily, Samsung knows a lot of Galaxy Note 4 owners may hate this feature, so Samsung made it easy to remove the Flipboard briefing on the Galaxy Note 4 home screen.
In the Home screen editing mode, under home screen settings, you can turn off Flipboard briefing on Galaxy Note 4 Home screen.
In any of the home screen pages, tap and hold any empty area to enter home screen editing mode in your Galaxy Note 4, as shown below.
In Home screen editing mode, you can customize the home screen, add apps and widgets to the home screen, and manage apps and widgets on the home screen. We will have other tutorials to cover these.
In Galaxy Note 4 home screen editing mode, tap Home screen settings.
In the new window, un-check Flipboard Briefing.
Tap the back button twice to return to the home screen.
Now you have turned off the Flipboard briefing on the Galaxy Note 4 home screen. If you really need it, you can turn it on by following the similar steps.
If you have any problems turning off or turning on Flipboard briefing on the Galaxy Note 4 home screen, please let us know in the comment box below. We will try to help you find a solution.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! That damn thing was SO frustrating! I can't stand apps that are forced on us when we have to BUY the phone! I can understand it if we rent the phone. But we BUY this phone! It's ours! We should be able to load or delete anything we want off this thing!
Thanks. It was driving me crazy
Quick and easy fix
God bless us all with these apps.
Thank you :) it was driving me nuts.
Well, I turned it off which is good but I still get the annoying alerts which I hate.
You can turn off notifications in settings - application manager- briefing. Uncheck show notifications.
Thank you. I was really getting tired about being notified about the next NFL player was being suspended for drug use everytime I checked my phone.
I HATE that app! Thank you SO much!
You are my savior! I hated that thing more than I think I have ever hated anything a company has put on my phone.
I can't scroll through continuously, either. It stops on page one and won't let me scroll left, and if I start at the home screen and scroll to the right it stops at page 3. In settings mode, I can see home screen page 4 but I can't use it and it won't let me scroll through continuously. Ugh...annoying.
After you turn off the flipboard briefing, it should allow you to cycle though home screen panels.
cannot remove - tried everthing as instructed - this app is really annoying
Can you turn it off as shown in this guide? Pre-installed apps cannot be removed unless you root the phone.
TURN off is basically as good as uninstalling.
Useful tip but not the ideal solution i hope samsung is listening to these commments I DON'T LIKE ANY APP THAT I CAN'T REMOVE EASILY AND COMPLETLY I AM SICK AND TIRED OF APPS THAT ARE FORCED UPON ME IT IS NOTHING SHORT OF MALWARE . So my question is how do you remove this piece of shit completly it is my phone i brought it so why should i have to put up with crap I don't want. Perhaps a class action against these sort of apps should be started like when Microsoft was forced to remove explorer from the operating system.
Unfortunately, for pre-installed apps, you cannot uninstall them (unless you root the phone. But this voids warranty in most regions).
All smartphones come with some pre-installed apps. Even Nexus is loaded with some Google apps you probably never use.
It seems Samsung started to bundle less bloatware in galaxy S6. But your carrier will definitely bundle a few...
It's better if this can be replaceable (or turnoff as above) with other apps, for example Play Newstand, or any of my favorites.
I can't get my screens to rotate around either. I have my home screen and 4 other pages. It stops me when I get to both ends. I tried adding a Padgett like you suggested but it didn't do anything.
On android phones, Home screens can only be in portrait mode. They cannot change to landscape mode as in tablets.
Most apps support screen rotation. You can test the rotation with a browser.
Apparently auto correct sucks too. I meant page!
Thank you! Just what I was looking for.
How can I do this in galaxy tab s?
For the magazine ui in tab s, you have to leave at least one special page in the left for some the selected widgets. It's hard coded in the UI.
You can put gallery or video or music widgets there if you don't like the news.
Thanks for that now how do i get the heap of shit of my phone completly
You cannot remove them because it is part of the bloatware.
Been making me crazy, thanks so much!
Yes....Thanks. ...
Thanks!!!
Thank you!!!
Thanks so much. Annoying as hell as one user already said. :) appreciate it
Thank you very much;))
Thank You !
Flipboard briefing always sounds some thing annoying, don't know why Samsung put this by default,
THANKS, damm bloatware, almost had to go root
I disabled Flipboard but my Note 4 still does not rotate all the way thru... Is there something else I need to do?
I'm starting to think it's impossible to scroll to the left of the Homescreen even with Flipboard turned off. Downloading a 3rd party launcher seems to be the only way we can fully rotate through Homescreens. Anyone figure it out please tell!!!
Which page stops you?
You can try to add one pages left to it or move the page to right.
Which page does it stop?
What I'd like to know is how to get it where I can scroll through the home screens around and around like I used to on my Note 2?? This anoys me!
You have to disable (turn off) the flipboard briefing as explained in this page, if you want to flick through all pages in any directions. You cannot flick through Flipboard briefing.
I disabled Flipboard and I still can't flip through the screens in any direction
Which page stops you?
Thank you!
thanks so much this app is annoying as hell
thank you ^^ helps me!
Perfect . . .very nice tip/tut. Thanks a lot
