Why does my Note reboot intermittently?
September 3, 2012 at 1:48 pm #374Galaxy NoteMemberIt depends. It can be a hardware related issue; but it can also be a software related issue. Occasionally (actually, rarely), some apps may crash the system
September 4, 2012 at 2:40 am #375AnonymousInactiveI have tried everything that has been suggested on many other forums, to no avail. I use my Note as an alarm clock. Not much cop when the bastard thing decides to restart during the night, which it has, lots.
Still, thanks for the reply.
September 8, 2012 at 6:59 am #383AnonymousInactiveHey!!.
Mine has the same issue it keeps rebooting itself randomly after i updated it to ICS 4.03. I hope the new software update can fix this.
However, i really need to to know what happens if the phone reboots/restarts itself while the phone is undergoing a software update?
Any suggestions, for any fix if it so happens coz now that the update is available i would really like to update the phone.
Thanks

September 9, 2012 at 2:35 am #386Galaxy NoteMemberThe ICS 4.0.4 update solved a lot of issues encountered in the ICS 4.0.3 update. Actually, in some regions, users already got two ICS 4.0.4 update. The first one addressed many issues in ICS 4.0.3 update. The second one improved the stability and improve the performance noticeably.
Random rebooting can also be caused by some poor-written or malicious apps, in addtion to hardware/firmware issue. Occasionally, some widgets may also cause the issue.
During the update, the phone must reboot at least once. If, for some reasons, the update is not successful, you can always re-apply the update.

Thanks for the prompt response. I appreciate it. So you mean it wont be harmful for the phone even if the phone reboots while the updating is in progress?
Secondly, I was shocked to notice that when i try to check for updates now it says ” no updates available”.
I tried updating it with kies but it just stops while the components are being downloaded and flashes the the message the server connection was lost. I have an excellent internet connection this shouldn’t happen.
But my second question is why does it read “no updates available ” when i check for it from my phone?

September 9, 2012 at 8:32 am #390AnonymousInactiveAnd do you know if the UAE update has the pop up play or not?

September 9, 2012 at 11:59 am #395Galaxy NoteMemberIn some regions, OTA is not available, so you have to use Kies.
Sometimes, Samsung’s Kies server may be too busy, or the server does not have good connections to some regions. So, you may still face some problems even if you have very good internet connection. In case of such problem happens, you can try to reboot your phone, and try to connect to Kies again and check update again.
Not sure about the pop-up play feature for UAE ICS 4.0.4 update, as it was just released last week and I haven’t heard any reports (complaints) on this.
September 9, 2012 at 5:45 pm #397AnonymousInactivehi,
Thanks a lot for your support, just updated my galaxy note to ICS 4,.04via kies. Everything is fine, even got the pop up play feature.
Is it possible to resize the video when in pop up play mode, if yes, then how can it be done?
rgds
September 10, 2012 at 11:51 am #400Galaxy NoteMemberNo, the pop-up video cannot be re-sized in ICS 4.0.4. But in Jelly Bean (4.1), you can re-size it as demoed in Galaxy Note 2.
