I got my Samsung Galaxy note about 8 months ago and now the screen does not work, the menu and the back keys are the only things that light up, the rest is black. A few days ago, it started getting thin white lines scrolling down the screen and the screen would flicker like an old TV that was not tuned in properly.
I bought my phone from an eBay seller, Tropical Computer Systems, from Singapore (I’m in Australia) with a Tax Invoice which says it has a 24 month warranty. On further investigation, Samsung Australia will not fix the phone as it is an international variant. Samsung Singapore warranty website says that a 12 month warranty exists for residents only.
Has anyone had this situation before? Any suggestions? Should I try to send it back to the seller to get fixed and possibly loose my phone/brick?
Anyway, the lesson I will take from this is never buy electronics from international sellers!!
It could be just a faulty screen.
I am not sure whether you cna ask local Samsung service center do a check/test (pay small fees), then decide how to proceed.
